land and sky
Michael Cleaves
Here is a list of my top ten favorite things - because everyone loves lists!
01
Gargantua and Pantagruel, by Francois Rabelais
It is filled with lists - and most of them go up to way more than ten!
02
This woman's gallery kicks all manner of ass!
03
British Postpunk
Really, why would you listen to something with melody when you could hear the same beat over and over again? Seriously, Mark E. Smith will never die! Check out this live version of New Face in Hell and tell me they're not number three on your top ten list.
04
Julia’s Letter
This was on Wix's template in position #4. I don't even know what it is!
05
Basil Bunting's Briggflatts
Really one of the best poems of the twentieth century. Augustan meter is on my bottom ten list lately, so I'm happy to hear something that doesn't jangle at the end of each couplet.
06
I could watch avant-garde cinema all day. But just today, mostly because I'm kind of wasted by now, what with it being noon and whatnot.
07
This kid is alright. Smart as a whip and an uncanny ability to see through libertarian bullshit. Plus, his name is as easy to misspell as Peter Bruegel's.
08
True Detective
Because unlike everyone else, I love gothic detective shows.
09
Nancy Holt and that guy she married
You'd have to be insane not to like Sun Tunnels or Swamp. Literally. Insane. And we are all truly sorry for her recent loss - she was a wonderful artist, and it's a loss for all of us.
10
If I didn't list my publisher on the top ten list, James Crewe would reach across the US and slap me in the face.
